4th of July Camp Out

Even the best plans go to waste. We had planned a camping trip at lake Jordan with Kimberly's Brother (Uncle J), Sister (Aunt KeDee), their spouses (Uncle Radar & Aunt Roxy), my niece and nephew. To make a long story short, Aunt KeDee got sea sick and had to go home Friday night they did come back on Saturday(what a champ!), I ran aground and destroyed my propeller, and we received the worst thunderstorm of the year Saturday night. We took Kimbery, the boys, Aunt KeDee and my nephew back to the dock after the storm and they went home. the girls came back the next day to pick Uncle Radar and myself up, we called it a trip.

There is always something positive in every situation so this is what we got out of it.

hold on I'm thinking.............

still thinking.................

OK

  1. When we broke down (the prop thing) we had meet a really nice couple that helped us out out and they took Uncle J and fam back to the dock.

  2. Uncle Radar mechanical skills fixed the prop so we could use the boat

  3. After we took the girls back to the dock, uncle Radar and I went back to the mooring spot to weather the rest of the storm. This was a relaxing time for us to talk, bond and just enjoy God's wonderful power.

  4. As usual uncle J and fam made out like a bandit, they came tubed, caught fish and left before the storms hit.

  5. The biggest ..... During all the turmoil and stress we kept it together as a family and bonded closer as a result of it. You know God will always out bless the stress if you let him.

yep...sometimes you just need to step back and notice when he does that. I always tell Greg...the goodness of a memory is what you make it. If you focus on the good...somehow that is what you remember. We are learning that family trip by family trip :) Maybe by the time our kids are older we will get it right!
